Domain Forwarding allows you to redirect visitors to another website or url. It is a great way to point additional domain names you've registered to your main website.
Setup Forwarding
- Login to your Control Panel at https://www.misk.com/cp/
- Click on your Domain Name
- Point the domain
- For the main domain (i.e., www.example.com)
- Under Domain in the top area, click Forwarding (For Essentials users, click on Website under Essentials in the top area)
- Select Domain Forwarding
- Enter the Destination
- Click Save
- For a subdomain (e.g., blog.example.com)
- Subdomains require Domain Essentials
- Under Essentials in the top area, click DNS
- Click Add Record and select Forwarding
- Enter the Subdomain you want (e.g., blog)
- Enter the Destination
- Click Save
- For the main domain (i.e., www.example.com)
How Long will the Change Take?
When you first enable domain forwarding, an automatic dns change is made. DNS changes are made immediately and in realtime across our nameservers. However, due to dns record caching by internet service providers, it may take a few hours for everyone to see the changes.
If domain forwarding is already enabled, changes to the destination take effect immediately.
Redirect Type
The default redirect type is a 301 Redirect (permanent) and is recommended in most cases. You also have the option to change this to a 302 Redirect (temporary) if needed under Advanced Settings.
