Updating your Administrative Email for Transfer

How do I Update the Administrative Email Address on my Domain?

In order to confirm the transfer your domain name into our services, you will need to have access to the Administrative Email Address associated with your domain name.

Below are the instructions for updating the Administrative Email Address for several Registrars including:

  • NetworkSolutions.com
  • GoDaddy.com
  • Register.com
  • Enom.com
  • Joker.com
  • Dotster.com
  • DotRegistrar.com
  • DirectNic.com

Contact your registrar directly for assistance in updating your Administrative Email Address.

NetworkSolutions.com:

  1. At NetworkSolutions.com, click Control Panel Manager | Login.
  2. Enter your User ID and Password.
  3. Click Edit User Info on the left-hand side of the screen.
  4. Replace the email address listed with the correct address.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Edit Account Contacts on the left-hand side of the screen.
  7. Click View/Edit WHOIS Contacts towards the bottom of the page.
  8. Check the box to the left of the domain name to be transferred.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. Select WHOIS Administrative Contact.
  11. Click Continue.
  12. Select Yourself.
  13. Click Continue.

GoDaddy.com:

  1. At GoDaddy.com, click on My Control Panel.
  2. Enter your Login Name and Password and click Login.
  3. Click on Manage Domains.
  4. Click the check box next to the domain name you need to update.
  5. Click Manage Contacts.
  6. Click Administrative Contact at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Update the email address and click Save Changes.

Register.com:

  1. At Register.com, click on My Control Panel.
  2. Enter your User Name and Password and click Sign In.
  3. Click on Contact Info.
  4. Click on Administrative Contact.
  5. Your current Administrative Contact Information will be shown. Click on Yes under Do you want to Modify this Information?.
  6. Update the Email Address and click Yes.

Enom.com:

  1. At Enom.com, click on My Control Panel.
  2. Enter your Login ID and Password and click Go.
  3. Click on the first option under Overview.
  4. Click on the domain name you wish to administer.
  5. Under Utilities click on Contact/WHOIS Information.
  6. Scroll down to Administrative Contact, and select Use the Following Information.
  7. Update the email address.

Joker.com:

  1. At Joker.com, enter your Login Email and Login Password and click Go.
  2. Click on Service Zone.
  3. Under Domain Settings, click on Proceed.
  4. Click on Change under Domain Modification.
  5. Click on the domain name you wish to administer.
  6. To change the admin contact, you must first change the Owner's Email Address. To do this, click on Email Change under Owner.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Enter the new Admin Contact Email Address you would like.
  9. Click on Next.
    • Joker.com will then send a confirmation email to the previous owner contact email address and to the requested owner contact email address. Both of these emails must be confirmed in order to finalize the change. Each email will contain a link, which take you to a page, that will ask you to confirm the change. After you confirm the email, Joker will update your information. This process could take a few hours.
  10. Once the Owner Email Address has been updated, you can now change the Administrative Contact Email Address.
    • To do this, click on Replace next to Administrative under Contacts.
  11. From the drop down menu under Replace Contact, you will now be able to select the email address you added earlier for the Owner.
  12. Click on Save.

This change will be confirmed by email.

Dotster.com:

  1. At Dotster.com, click on My Control Panel.
  2. Enter your Control Panel Name or Domain Name and Password and click Log In.
  3. Click on your domain name under Domain Quick List.
  4. Click on Update Domain Contacts.
  5. Click on Administrative under Contact Information.
  6. Enter the correct email address under Email.
  7. Click Update.

DotRegistrar.com:

  1. At DotRegistrar.com, click on Member Login under Our Site.
  2. Enter your User Name and Password and click Login.
  3. Click on your domain name.
  4. Click on Modify to update your Admin Contact Email Address.
  5. Scroll down to Admin Contact Info and update your Administrative Email Address.
  6. Click Save Changes for this Domain.

DirectNic.com:

  1. At DirectNic.com, enter your Username and Password and click Submit.
  2. Click on the number next to Domains in Control Panel.
  3. Click on Customer Settings.
  4. Click on Contacts.
  5. Click on the Contact Name with an A under Defaults.
  6. Enter the correct email address and click Update.
