Looking to transfer a domain name into Misk.com?
The transfer process below applies to transfers of .com, .net, .org, .info and .biz domains into Misk.com.
The Domain Transfer Process
Once you have initiated the transfer of your domain name, the administrator will receive an email from us with instructions on how to confirm the transfer of your domain at your current Administrative Email Address.
During the confirmation process the administrator will be prompted to visit a secure web site and enter 2 pieces of information to confirm the transfer:
- Confirmation Key
- Authorization Code
Confirmation Key
The Confirmation Key is a randomly generated password which was sent in the confirmation email to the administrative email address.
Authorization Code
The Authorization Code, also known as the Auth Code or EPP Key must be obtained from the current registrar.
Step 3. Current Registrar Declines Transfer or Releases Domain
Once you have confirmed the transfer of your domain name, your current registrar will then either decline or release your domain. If your domain name is released, the transfer should be completed shortly. However, if your current registrar declines the transfer, you will need to contact them and find out why they declined your transfer.
60-Day Transfer Prohibited Period
Recently Registered
If a domain name has been registered within the 60-day transfer prohibited period, you will be unable to initiate the transfer as you will receive an error message when trying to process your order.
Recently Transferred
If a domain name has been recently transferred from one registrar to another, the registry will most likely deny the transfer unless the current registrar explicitly states that they will be able to release the domain name.
Step 4. Transfer Completed
You will then be able to fully manage your domain name through your Misk control panel once the transfer has been completed.
