Once you have created your Web Site through MS Front Page you can upload your web site to our servers by publishing your web site through MS Front Page.
To Publish your Web Site using FrontPage, you will need:
- Hostname
This is the location to which you will publish your files.
Our FTP host name is ftp.misk.com . You will need to enter "ftp://ftp.misk.com/yourdomain.com/" as the "Remote Web site location".
- Username
The user name is also your Misk username (which is what you would use to login to your Misk control panel).
- Password
This is the password you set when you first enabled the Web Hosting service.
Frontpage FTP Setup (Web Publishing Wizard)
Important: Place all of the files you are going to upload into their own folder before you start the Web Publishing Wizard.
- Click on File in the top menu and select Publish Web.
- In the "Remote Web Site Properties" window, select the directory that you wish to upload from and click Next.
- You may use the Browse Folders or Browse Files buttons to locate the current folder that your files are stored in.
- Name your Web Server. This name may be anything that you wish. Click Next.
- Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields. This will be your Misk username and your FTP password. Click Next.
- You may choose to save the password by checking the box below the password field. This is not recommended if you are working in an office or where other people will have access to your computer.
- You will now need to specify a connection method. Select FTP from the drop-down menu and Click Next.
- Leave the FTP server as it is in the box. Enter your subfolder name for your files. You may use "httpdocs" as a default. Click Next.
- Click Finish and Frontpage will automatically upload the files to your web page from the folder that you specified during the setup process.
- Once it has finished uploading your files, click OK to return to Frontpage.
Note: Next time you use the Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard it will try to use the settings from the previous session. If you are not uploading to the same directory you will need to give your session a new name when you begin.
