Creating Personalized Nameservers

Personalized Nameservers are nameservers based on your domain name. They may also be referred to as Personal Nameservers, Custom Nameservers or Private Nameservers.

Before you are able to use a Personalized Nameserver, you will need to register it with the Registry.

How to Register your Nameservers

1. Please visit http://www.misk.com and login to your "Control Panel" using your username and password.
2. Click on your domain name under "All Domains".
3. Click on Update Nameservers in the "Domain Actions" panel.
4. Click on the Custom Nameserver Management link at the bottom of the page.
5. You may then enter the "Hostname" and the IP Address ("IP 1") associated with the Hostname.
6. Click on Save Settings to create your Custom Nameserver.

Once you have registered your Personalized Nameservers, you will also need to create A records on your DNS server for the new nameserver.

For example, if you are creating the Personalized Nameserver, ns1.yourdomain.com, you would need to create the "ns1" A Record which points to the IP Address for your nameserver.

If you will be using our DNS Server to resolve the domain name that the nameservers are based off of you will need to setup the A Record using our Custom DNS service on the domain name.

Now that you have setup the nameservers to properly resolve you may point your domain name to your new nameservers themselves by Updating Your Nameservers.
