Capturing a Screenshot in Windows
- Bring up the screen that you would like to capture.
- Press the Prt Scr button on your keyboard. This is normally found in the upper right section of most standard keyboards.
- Choose the appropriate program that you would like to paste the image into.
- You may use a general photo editing program like "Paint", or you may paste the image directly into a new Microsoft Word Document.
- Email the image as an attachment along with your help request. Be sure to include a description of your problem in the email that you send us.
Capturing a Screenshot in Mac OS
- Bring up the screen you would like to capture.
- Press Command (⌘), Shift and 3 all at the same time. With Mac OS 9 and X, you will hear a small camera shutter sound.
- A file called "PICTURE 1" will be on the Desktop. The file format is determined by the version of Mac OS you are running. With OS X 10.3 and 10.4, the picture is PNG file. Older Mac OS X versions will save as PDF files. Mac OS 9 will save as a PICT file.
